The writer of this blog is an avid Amiga and retro gaming fan boy  based in the UK who fell in love with video games from the age of 9 when his parents decided to buy him an Atari 2600 from the Index catalogue along with a few games.

Througout my school days I upgraded to owning a Commodore 64 and then later an Amiga 600 and 1200 which stayed with me  all the way through his studies at University in the late 90’s.

My passion for video games then turned to collecting, machines and systems of all sorts from Amiga CD32, to Sega Master System, NES, Atari Jaguar, Atari 7800, Watara (Quickshot) Supervision,  Turbografx-16, Sega Megadrive, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, 3DO, Xbox, Spectrum and Amstrad CPC machines.  I also own a MIST FGPA board which sits under my monitor and thankfully protects a lot of my existing systems from wear and tear,

The Amiga has always been my main focus however and a few years back I looked into upgrading my A1200 to a Power PC machine, but sadly found that getting hold of an accelerator card to run on my machine would cost an arm and a leg.  I discovered that there was new Amiga hardware being produced.and purchased an Amigaone 500 machine from Italian manufacturer Acube Systems.  Having used Amiga OS4.1 for 3 years now, I have been hooked since and am keen to let you all know just how much fun it is to use this system.

I am fairly active on the main Amiga forums, Amigaworld.net, Amiga.org and Amigans.net under the handle Outrun1978.
